Curfew in held Kashmir
SRINAGAR: Curfew was re-imposed on Wednesday in parts of India-held Kashmir, including five police station areas of this city, to thwart a protest march to Kulgam district even as mobile services
The authorities had lifted curfew in Kashmir except Anantnag town on Tuesday following which it was rocked by fresh protests. A 61-year-old man died in a road accident during clashes in the city on Tuesday and 14 others were injured in action by security forces across the disputed region.
“Curfew has been re-imposed in the entire Kulgam district and Anantnag town,” a police official said. He said curfew was also imposed in five police station areas of Srinagar.
Meanwhile, normal life remained paralysed for the 19th consecutive day due to a strike called by leaders opposed to Indian rule.
