The strike is scheduled to take place from Monday to Friday

Rail-workers are going ahead with a full working-week of strikes from today (Monday), after talks between a union and Southern Rail broke down.

On Friday, the RMT Union had made a new offer to Southern Rail, which could have seen the end of the dispute between the two groups.

But talks broke down between the groups, and strike action is going ahead as planned.

The union is holding the strike over the changing role of conductors on services, which could see the introduction of driver-only trains.

There will be no service from Tonbridge to Redhill during the industrial action, while a limited bus replacement service is running from Ashford International towards Hastings.

Southeastern services are accepting tickets at Beckenham Junction.

A reduced service will be running from Anerley toward London Bridge.
