India : Trade unions stage protest against neo-liberal policies
Five central trade unions came together to stage a demonstration against neo-liberal policies of the Union Government.
It was held in front of the RDO on Tuesday. The protesters condemned
the violation of labour laws and divestment of stakes of public sector companies. They wanted the Road Transport and Safety Bill to be scrapped. Thozhilalar Munnetra Sangam Peravai state general secretary K. Sounderrajan led the protest.
C. Appasamy, district president of CITU, K. Jeevanandam, district president of AITUC, P. Ranganathan, district president of INTUC and N.Gokulavasan, district president of HMS were among those participated.
