Pakistan : Kiln workers leader faints as hunger strike enters fourth day
TOBA TEK SINGH, Sep 2: The strike of the Bhatta Mazdoor Union entered the fourth day at Shahbaz Chowk on Sep 1.
Bhatta Mazdoor Union district general secretary Muhammad Shabbir continued
the hunger strike till death on the consecutive fourth day. Scores of men and women belonging to the kiln workers families also observed hunger strike to show solidarity with him. He was demanding implementation on the provincial government’s notification of minimum wages of Rs 1,036 per 1,000 bricks for the workers. In the evening, Muhammad Shabbir became unconscious in the camp. He was shifted to the DHQ Hospital.
