Canada : Hotel workers plan one-day walkout for Sept. 9
Unionized workers at multiple hotels throughout the province will be staging a one-day strike on Sept. 9.
Nine unions have a mandate for a three-day strike in Quebec City
and Montreal, while another local in Sherbrooke has authorization to walk off the job indefinitely.
More union locals are meeting in the next few days, so the number of hotels affected by a walkout could grow.
The hotels in labour negotiations are:
in Montreal
- Marriott Chateau Champlain
- Gouverneur Hotel Place Dupuis
- Hilton Laval
- Quality Suites Pointe Claire
- Hotel Bonaventure
Quebec City
- Hilton Quebec
- Delta Quebec
- Hotel Pur Quebec
- Hotel Classic
Sherbrooke
- Quality Hotel
