Pakistan : Teachers protest in Qambar after suicide over unpaid wages

LARKANA, Sep 6: Academic activities at all primary schools across Qambar-Shahdadkot district remained suspended on Sep 5 over suicide by a primary school teacher, who first killed his wife, in Jean

Abro village of Qambar town four days ago.

Shakeel Abro had lodged an FIR with the Mahi Makook police station claiming that his brother, Jamil Abro shot dead his wife, Komal Abro, and then himself under sever mental stress he had been suffering due to the stoppage of his salary for two months.

The district chapter of the Primary Teachers Association (PTA) took out a procession in Qambar to condemn the government for stopping salaries of a large number of teachers despite clearance of their cases in the biometric scrutiny.

Abdul Rehman Chandio, Daim Rahujo and Aarab Chandio, who led the procession, told the media at the local press club that all affected teachers were under mental stress for not getting their salaries.
