Libya: Sharif - 1st Arab woman to assume Presidency, lead union federation
Libya _ Libyan Unionist Nermin Sharif was elected yesterday as the head of Libyan General Federation of Trade Unions .
This came at the end of the first founding conference of
the Libyan General Federation of Trade Unions, which took place on the 4th and the 5th of September in "Hammamet" in Tunisia under the patronage of the Arab Federation of Trade Unions.
AL-Sharif occupies for years the membership of the Executive Office of the Federation of Transport Workers in the world, along with the membership of the Executive Office of the Arab Trade Union Federation. She also took several trade union leadership positions.
