India : National Strike 2016: Report of 2nd September Strike - Chattisgarh Mukti Morcha
There was a good response to the 2nd September national general strike all over Chhattisgarh.
Pragatisheel Cement Shramik Sangh participated whole heartedly in the strike and ACC-Holcim plant at Jamul was
totally shut down. None of the contract workers attended work and only a handful of permanent workers attended. Even in the under construction new plant only 25 construction workers entered. 
Contract workers of the Bhilai Steel Plant responded enthusiastically to the strike call at the Khursipar and Puraina gates where the Loktantrik Ispat aur Engineering Mazdoor Union distributed parchas in large numbers.
The NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited was totally shut down as the Jan Aadharit Power Plant Mazdoor Union distributed parchas at the gates.
The Fortune Company Limited which is a Wire Drum and Rolling Mill Company in Dharsiva was totally closed as workers led by the Pragatisheel Yuva Sangh and Jan Aadharit Engineering Mazdoor Union.
Workers of CMM (Mazdoor Karyakarta Samiti) distributed hundreds of parchas at Simplex Chowk in the Urla industrial belt.
