Pakistan : KMC men to work on Eid holidays
KARACHI, Sep 16: The Municipal Workers Trade Unions Alliance (MWTUA) on Monday announced that its members would participate in offal lifting and other designated works during Eidul Azha holidays.
In a
statement issued here MWTUA chief Zulfiqar Shah said that the decision was taken after a meeting with deputy mayor Arshad Vohra who assured that he would sort out their issues.
Earlier, the workers had announced that they would not work during Eidul Azha unless their colleagues, majority of whom had worked during the Eid last year but had not yet been paid the for the work, were paid their arrears.
Though the arrears / payment has not yet been made, the workers have announced to work as a gesture of goodwill to the newly elected representatives, who have recently assumed office.
