Pakistan : FDE daily wagers unpaid since June
Islamabad, Sep 16: The Federal Directorate of Education’s daily-wage employees, both teachers and other staff members, have complained about non-payment of salary for three months.
According to a Youth Teachers Association
Islamabad leader, around 2,000 FDE staff members working in Islamabad’s government schools and colleges haven’t been paid salary since last June.
He said since daily wagers had limited resources, they especially their family members, were really agitated over the denial of salary for three months.
The YTA leader said Eid brought no cheers to daily-wage workers in absence of salary.
He said it was unfortunate that the FDE and the CADD, which oversee it, had disregarded the high court’s recent orders for release of salary to daily wagers.
The YTA leader urged the court to step in for the daily wagers’ relief. He warned if the government withheld salary any longer, daily-wage workers could agitate.
